As part of Council's Eco Festival, we are delighted to host a n interactive puppet show, that talks about the importance of recycling and lowering impacts on our waterways.
'The Mermaid’s Recycled Tail’ promotes positive recycling behaviour, starting with Hester the environmentally aware puppet who loves to create and craft using recycled materials. Hester finds and ‘crafts' a Mermaids tail from a bunch of sushi trays, then continues her journey in an underwater adventure where she meets Arty Octopus, a famous painter in the Deep Blue Sea who is sad about the state of the ocean. We explore the negative impact that rubbish and waste has on our waterways and oceans before Hester and Arty start the big rubbish clean up. Arty then fashions Hester a colourful tail out of craft fabric and gems, etc to say thanks for her interest in helping our environment. There is audience participation in dancing and singing, as well as an option to make and create and discuss all aspects of the show.
Please note that parents will be required to stay with their children for the duration of the show.
