Music on Mars 2026 is a free outdoor concert in a beautiful setting, at the Visitor Centre, Field of Mars Reserve, East Ryde. In case of bad weather, it will be held in the nearby Environmental Education Centre.
It is hosted by the Ryde - Hunters Hill Flora and Fauna Preservation Society, and generously supported by Ryde City Council.
The afternoon begins with a brief family-friendly musical play, "What Does the Rabbit Look Like?" (executive producer Chloe Hwang), with Korean sounds, English dialogue and an environmental message. The programme continues with: Folk, Country and Acoustic Songs with Ineke Olive and her guitar; Middle Eastern Melodies with AvaZan: Empowering Women through Music, Culture and Community; "The Hidden Landscape": Stories and Poetry with John August; and excerpts from Jenkins' "Stella Natalis" with the Macquarie Singers.
From about 2.30pm children (accompanied by an adult) can take part in separate activities based on the musical play, in a nearby space.
