SWING

About this event

Australia SWING is a spectacular, beautifully engineered steel structure standing nine metres tall. It’s an experience for everyone, children, adventurous adults, people in wheelchairs, the slightly nervous and the simply curious. From the ground up, it’s all about shared joy, anticipation and play. Once you’re secure, you’re pulled back and wheeee! You’re in the air. Higher and higher you go. Muscle memory takes over as you lean back, stretch out your legs and fly. It’s exhilarating, with just a hint of fear. The world slips away and you’re transported. Eventually, the arc begins to shorten, the swing slows, and you gently return to earth, stepping back into the world with a grin. For participants aged nine and over, SWING offers the full experience of the giant swing. Younger children are not left out, they become part of the action by helping, cheering, calling out names, and sharing in the anticipation from the ground. Alongside the giant swing is its tiny baby sibling, a swing designed especially for little ones so they can join in their own way. Everyone leaves having remembered the joy of free play.
