BBQ for Multiculturalism

About this event

Inner West Council is holding a BBQ in support of multiculturalism, celebrating the successive waves of migration that have helped build our community. Will we see you there? The Inner West has long been at the forefront of Australia's multicultural story. Our neighbourhoods are full of vibrant migrant communities from all walks of life. We know  this diversity is our strength and we see the economic, cultural and social contributions these communities bring. However, recent attempts by some people to tear down multiculturalism have left many in our community feeling fearful. The best response is for us all to come together, celebrate our diversity, and show why multiculturalism works. You're invited to join migrant and multicultural organisations, faith communities, sporting clubs and locals from all walks of life to gather in support of diversity and social cohesion. This free family-friendly event will include speakers, live music, cultural performances, children’s entertainment, a free BBQ and more . Visit the event page on Facebook
